The Rotary Blenheim 10k
The Rotary Blenheim 10k is the annual 10–kilometre charity run held in the park of Blenheim Palace near Woodstock in Oxfordshire – an undulating course through parklands on traffic-free metalled roads. The race is organised by the Rotary Club of Woodstock (Registered Charity no. 1036746) and is held in Blenheim Park by kind permission of His Grace the Duke of Marlborough.
The 2007 Rotary Blenheim 10k took place on Sunday 14th October 2007 in aid of ROSY (Respite nursing for Oxfordshire's Sick Youngsters).
395 runners completed the 2007 event. Stephen Kimber of In It To Win It improved his winning time of last year to win the 2007 men's event in a time of 34:09. Samantha Usher led the women home in a time of 40:51. James Savage and Philip Pollard took second and third positions for the men, whilst Sophie Whitworth and Sarah Sainsbury finished second and third in the women's event.
In the Vets events, Richard Thomas took the men's prize in the 50-59 age group in a time of 41:02, with Michael Miller winning the 60-plus category in a time of 45:30. Wendy Harbottle led the 45-54 age group for the women in 47:05, with Jayne Partridge winning the 55-plus category in 51:20. In It To Win It (Stephen Kimber, Dan Hills, Thomas Proctor-Legg and Peter Loveridge) won the men's team event and Headington Road Runners (Sophie Whitworth, Imogen Matthews, Anita Donaldson and Karen Jackson) continued their tradition of taking the women's team prize.
